7 Minecraft Greenhouse Designs and Builds

A Minecraft greenhouse is a glass building over a farm. Pick a frame material (wood, stone, or dark prismarine all look nice), keep the inside lit so mobs don’t spawn, and leave room for water channels. Here are 7 greenhouse designs from tiny starter builds to industrial glass halls.

This list is current for 2026 (Minecraft 26.2, Chaos Cubed).

Building a greenhouse in Minecraft is a great way to organize your farming and is a fun building idea! The main advantage of building a farm in a greenhouse is that your farm can be indoors, but still exposed to natural sunlight due to the transparent glass.

Greenhouses are visually appealing, can help reduce mob spawning, and keep other players away from your crops. Note that mobs (including creepers) can still spawn inside at night if you don’t have proper lighting.

Since greenhouses can produce a lot of items, I recommend building a storage room nearby. This way, you’ll have plenty of chests to organize all your harvested crops.

Here is our list of the best Minecraft greenhouse builds:

1. Small Greenhouse

This video shows an excellent example of how to build a stunning yet small greenhouse. Although this type of greenhouse is not suited for farming large amounts of crops, it is still quite cozy.

The small garden outside and the leaves growing on the glass is a great touch and adds a sense of realism.

2. Narrow Greenhouse

Tall ceilings, lots of walking space, and farming plots make this greenhouse really stand out. Due to its large size, walking in this building can feel like you’re still outdoors (but more protected).

A unique feature of this greenhouse design is that it’s tall enough to allow for trees to grow. You could even grow a forest inside if you wanted to.

3. Modern Greenhouse

A more modern approach to designing a greenhouse in Minecraft. Note the use of taller walls, white stained glass, and sharp corners instead of traditional wooden curves. It packs quite the punch in such a small size.

4. House-Shaped Greenhouse

If you want a multi-purpose greenhouse that doubles as a house, this is the design for you. Live inside or farm, the choice is yours.

The building material for this kind of greenhouse could be made more interesting by using lighter or more colorful blocks like concrete.

5. Luxury Greenhouse

This youtuber shows you how to build a luxury greenhouse, step by step. A creative design with lots of attention to detail.

Building a design like this would probably take a lot of time and be a challenge, but sometimes that’s what it takes to get a luxury Minecraft build.

6. Large Industrial Greenhouse

This is a larger and more industrial looking greenhouse. It can easily be scaled to be wider or longer to suit your needs. For a larger farm, especially an automatic farm, this design will work great!

If you’re playing with Minecraft modpacks, this greenhouse design will provide plenty of room to hold all your machinery. Don’t forget the greenhouse glass mod for faster growing too.

7. Cobblestone Greenhouse

Want a super simple early-game greenhouse? This is the design for you. A simple greenhouse built with basic materials like cobblestone, glass, and torches.

You could easily fit in some rows of crops like wheat, carrots, and other crops inside this design to make it functional.
